THE CHIRANJEEVI BLOOD BANK
MISSION:
In an age where medicine has advanced greatly, blood still remains a
scarce life support, highly inaccessible. Added to which is the lurking
danger of infected blood seeping into the system due to inadequate
facilities and lack of awareness.
At CCT our endeavor is to provide safe and screened blood to every single person in need of it. In years to come CCT envisages to eradicate deaths due to lack of adequate and safe blood supply in A.P and in India .
POLICY: Chiranjeevi blood bank is perhaps the only blood bank in the state, where replacement of blood is not at all necessary.
CCT provides blood absolutely free of cost to the needy and underprivileged. Besides CCT also incurs the costs of blood screening which is about Rs.750/- per unit .In case of economically backward and lower income group people CCT absorbs these screening costs completely. Persons who are white card holders or belong to the family of white card holders and or availing treatment at Government Hospitals are eligible for claiming exemption of screening costs.
CCT provides a subsidy of 50% to those availing treatment at private nursing homes. In case of higher income groups, and those availing treatment at Corporate Hospitals, CCT still provides blood free of cost but the screening costs have to be borne by them.
The Blood bank has provided 3000 donors directly to the Hospitals like NIMS, CARE, APOLLO, USHA MULLAPUDI in cases of emergency that required fresh blood.
The Trust has established five voluntary blood donor clubs in Vishakahapatnam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Hyderabad and intends to meet a target of setting up 50 such clubs to substantially increase the number of blood donations.
A state of the art Components Preparation Unit to accommodate the recent developments in Blood Transfusion will also be added along with measures to upgrade the rest of the equipment Online

So many people are having some doubts on Chiranjeevi Charitable Trust. This article is for those people who feel Chiranjeevi is earning crores by starting Blood Bank, Please read the following. SOME MATHS for them.....
MELLISSA (HIV) test for one unit (300ml) costs around Rs. 300/- for CCT or any other blood bank.
Other TESTS:
Test for Blood grouping, Malaria, Allergy, Surgeries, WBC Count etc., will cost around Rs. 200/-. Forget about the Blood Bank maintenance expenses and Salaries, To give free blood to one person, It will cost around Rs.500/- for any blood bank bcz the tests mentioned above are a compulsion. Apart from these, some patients need only Plasma, few people require only Red Cells. Enquire in any blood bank, they will charge another 200-300 extra.
SUBSIDY:
For one Thirupathi Laddu it required Rs.18/- & Rs. 6/- is the Subsidy of Govt.
and Laddu costs around Rs.12/- to a common man. To manufacture 1 rupee coin It costs 1.24 paise, out of which 24 paise is subsidy given by the government.
One point to be noted here is there are no subsidies given by the government for Blood Banks. Blood banks are dependent on the funds collected from outside to bear the expenses.
HOW MUCH BLOOD BANKS COLLECT??
We will take Red Cross as example, If you require blood from Red Cross, You have to go with the requisition letter from the Doctor, you have to pay 400/- for one unit (300ml) of blood.
Apart from this they will collect one unit (300ml) from your family, relatives or friends because people who donate blood are less and people who require blood are more.
You may ask, We already gave blood why should we pay money?? It's a foolish question; bcz the 400/- you are paying is for the tests. In this process Red Cross is spending another 100/- from their pocket as your paying or they are collecting only 400/-
HOW MUCH CHIRANJEEVI BLOOD BANK IS COLLECTING??
Aksharala Rs.350/- ante it's collecting Rs.50/- less than Red Cross which has funds from all over the world. CCT won't accept funds from any other organizations or individuals.
WHO WILL GET FREE BLOOD??
1. Person who carries white ration card.
2. Government Hospitals or Government Aided Hospitals
3. Blood donor's family within 3 months
4. Regular Blood donor
5. People who are below poverty line (as per SSID)
Who will get Free Blood with out Replacement? ?
1. Talameesia : Bone Marrow thana pani thanu cheyyakapovadam valla, Blood vellaki raadhu, So prathi four monthski blood replace cheesukovaali. Vellaki free, No replacement.
2. Delivery Problems in some Hospitals: Ee aada ladies ki Free
3. Agnatha vyakthulu in accidents : Vellaki free
Some interesting math about Chiranjeevi Blood Bank
Red cross will be incurring a loss for 1.25 crores per year. CCT will distribute 4 times more than what Red Cross distributes. Aa amount Chiranjeevi pocket nundi velthaayi.

NOTE: The only benefit Chiranjeevi got from the government is getting some land for free of cost to construct Blood Bank Building.
